Welcome to ABout ABDL, a website all about ABDL*.Our Goals:
1. To provide accurate information about the ABDL* community so as to end the stigma, and do our part in dismantling the stigma that many gender and sexual minorities face every day.
2. To ensure that our community’s sexuality is not the only aspect of our community present on the Internet.
3. To provide a safe place for the next generation of the ABDL* community to learn about themselves while also giving them the knowledge to ensure that they can stay safe on-line. As such this website has been designed with a predominantly "PG" feel to it.
4. To explore the links between age identity, and gender identity. As such this website aims to be as trans* (a broader term referring to "transgender" and identities associated with) inclusive as possible, and covers many trans* topics (work in progress). Intersectionality is a big theme.
5. Finally, this website also covers some topics that are of interest to those using diapers to manage incontinence, and touches on topics concerning making the most out of life for those with disabilities.
What is "ABDL*"?
ABDL* is an umbrella term for Age Non-Conformity, Adult Babies, Diaper Lovers, and Littles. The * tacked onto the end exists to try and cover the entire spectrum of people under the larger ABDL umbrella.
Ultimately ABDL* is a very vague (and perhaps antiquated) term that is derived from the terms "Adult Baby" and "Diaper Lover". ABDL* covers a diverse community of people who enjoy doing at "inappropriately childish things" like: wearing diapers, using pacifiers bottles, sleeping with stuffed animals etc... Despite the ABDL*s community's origins as a fetish community, it has expanded to even include several intrinsically non-sexual subgroups. Additionally the community includes many people who take on nurturing or care taking roles for ABDL*s. There are even some members of the ABDL* community who are simply incontinent people trying to find a way to make their incontinence "fun" instead of a burden. Some ABDL*s have no interest in wearing diapers at all...
Probably the number one goal of this site is to explain ABDL* topics without using exclusionary language. This can be difficult as many of our labels/identities are currently constructed in ways that marginalize other subgroups. Lastly, intersectionality with the queer* community, the larger kink community, and finally the disabled community add yet another dimension of experiences and perspectives to respect.
